Kaitlyn Tarpey
Miss Teen America 2008
Kaitlyn is a 16-year old senior at The Loomis Chaffee School in Windsor, Connecticut. She is the daughter of Ann Dzenutis of Stamford, CT and Terry Tarpey of Bethpage, NY. She is an avid soccer player on the prestigious Loomis Chaffee Pelicans and she also hurdles for the school's track team. Besides soccer and track she enjoys modeling, shopping, singing and is a successful Irish Step Dancer. Kaitlyn had participated on the Student Council and has been on Honor Roll at Loomis since her freshman year. She is involved with many student activities and is a Tour Guide. As a senior she will be president of LCTV- the TV club on campus, hold a position on the Disciplinary Committee and serve as an Admission Communications Coordinator. She hopes to be accepted into a highly ranked communications college sometimes this year and would like to pursue Broadcasting Journalism as a major.
Her platform is Volunteerism in which she promotes the benefits of serving one's own community. She has involved herself with many organizations such as the Red Cross, Kids in Crisis, Cancer Research Organizations and has also done service which includes 5K runs, food drives, clothing drives, getting environmentally safe donations and much more. She hopes teenagers alike can join her in the Game of Volunteering.
